John Madden has Passed Away

I just heard on the news that John Madden died unexpectedly today. I watched the ALL MADDEN documentary on Saturday and really enjoyed looking back at his life. How sad that his life ended shortly after that aired. He's the greatest Football Announcer of all time in my opinion, and that may actually be second to what his coaching career was.

More American Children know the name Madden than the President’s name because of the video game.

His name is synonymous with football. Such a legend.

We all gotta go sometime, might as well be after you get to see your life’s work done in documentary form.

This guy was the definition of Football. He went into the Hall as a Raider but he turned into so much more than a guy from one team. He could have made the Hall just as an announcer. Not to mention that the Madden Football series has probably created more NFL fans than any other thing over the last 30 years.

John Madden is the greatest ambassador for the NFL there's ever been. It's honestly that simple. The other sports are all fundamentally regional for any number of reasons. But the NFL is America's Game, and John Madden was the President For Life of football nation.
