Who the hell was Buffalo keying in on? Especially with Henry on the sideline.

Standing in the pocket trying to go through progressions is not Lamar's forte. don't know why they keep trying to make him do that.

Weird Collinsworth keeps talking about "Lamar has made so much improvement as a pocket passer" yet he doesnt mention that in regards to Allen. Allen was MUCH more raw as a passer than Lamar was and even now still isnt as good of a pocket passer as Lamar.

Not sure you watch Lamar Jackson much. He makes a killing dicing teams up from the pocket. Watch the Ravens MNF game vs the Bucs last season.

I've probably watched him more than half the BAL fans out there. I was a big supporter of his, the first three years of his career. We can agree to disagree, but there's a consistent reason he struggles late in games when BAL is behind and he can't resort to just taking off when he doesn't like what he sees after the snap. Why he struggles to string passes together during a 2-minute drill/hurryup scenario. Same reason he's 3-5 in the playoffs with about a 50% completion %.

BUF run D has been an issue for awhile now. KC can't really take advantage of it, but BAL sure can.

Nah. He's actually very good in the pocket. His problem is for most of his career they tried to make him throw on the run to utilize his legs when he's better in the pocket. Saw that last season with a new OC who let him throw downfield from the pocket a lot. His other problem is the Ravens don't have great receivers. Flowers is about it, can't get by with just one in today's game. Need complimentary route runners and guys who can get 'nfl open' via route running skills. There's a reason that's been an emphasis lately over pure athleticism at the position.Sooner06 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 8:58 pm

Give Lamar Evans, Egbuka and Godwin to throw to and it'd be unfair.

Greg Roman for years tried to turn him into Colin Kaepernick with all of the motions, bootlegs, trying to get him on the run. He’s always been better from the pocket. Monken realized that. Statistically he’s on of the best QBs in the pocket.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 9:21 pmNah. He's actually very good in the pocket. You wonder how the Ravens lose in the playoffs. And then they lose in the playoffs.
It’s all on Lamar.

Lol, like I said, we can agree to disagree. I've seen enough of Lamar, and watched enough professional analysts like Warner, Baldinger, JTS etc. break him down a dozen times that I'm confident that Lamar is exactly who I think he is.

What you said isn’t an opinion. It’s statistically and factually wrong. It’s like you saying you believe 6x4=24 64 and we can agree to disagree on that.
So more accurately, if you’re comfortable living with lies then by all means. Let’s call a spade a spade here.

I think Allen and Lamar are just as good and honestly better than Mahomes currently. But the degree of difficulty is so much higher for Allen.

Lamar isn't good in the situations I described. I've literally watched him struggle in those exact moments. he did in fact struggle in those situations as recently as last season. I've literally watched Warner, JTS, et al say exactly the same things; in fact I learned some of what I posted above from those guys. I don't know what else there is to say. Are you suggesting that a HoF QB, an all-time great pocket passer, doesn't know what he's talking about? Or are you just saying that Warner lied?
Call a spade whatever you want, doesn't change the facts about Lamar's weaknesses.

In case you forgot what you said. This is again STATISTICALLY inaccurate. He’s one of the best QBs in the league from the pocket. If you’re changing your narrative, say so. Otherwise admit you lied here and move on.

There was a play before halftime where Lamar immediately detected the blitz post-snap and threw a perfect ball after deliberately looking it off. I don’t know when he ascended, but it’s pretty clear he has.

Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
If you step out of bounds, you can’t be the 1st to touch the ball after you come in bounds. That’s why he was so wide open. DB no longer has to defend a player who’s out of bounds and therefore ineligible to be the 1st to touch the ball.
