Gonna chalk this up to casuals being casuals and keep it moving.
Godwin got open plenty of times today. He could accelerate, he could flash open on routes against the same secondary that gave Patrick Mahomes fits in the Superbowl.

Godwin's issue, imo, was that he couldn't fight through contact and bring in the ball. Lapses in concentration, perhaps...not tentativeness exactly, but perhaps showing that he was unused to the antagonistic physicality of being an NFL player. Thankfully, Godwin has shown testicular fortitude in the past, and I trust he will work through these issues.

He was rusty today, not an invalid.

It’s been a month since the video in the original tweet here.

Who's saying this?

There was talk not long ago that Godwin might never see the field again. And there he was Sunday, on the field and actually really close to being the difference on a game against the reigning SuperBowl Champs.

The only negative would be if this early return is stunting his ability to get back to 100%. But as stated, there was doubt that 100% was ever even possible, prior to Sunday.

Glass half full I suppose.

Specially here with Babe, what's she's talking about and what he's dealing with isn't mental. For some after this injury they never regain that dorsi-flexion because physically it just never returns. There's no guarantee it will for Godwin.

Rusty is being hesitant on catching passes. The mental part of the game. Physically speaking, and what people are in denial about, there's things he can't do because he's not healthy enough to do them. Hopefully he continues to heal. But I wouldn't count on it being anytime soon that hes back to 100%. And if we put him out there at less than 100% after almost a year off, who does that benefit exactly?

I don’t know how you can tell what he can and can’t do from the game broadcast. They weren’t showing replays of his individual routes that I saw. I HAVE seen cut ups though of him creating separation and having his T-shirt grabbed to slow him down.

Sounds like a new opinion has been prematurely formulated purely based on an old one. You didn’t think he’d be back, but he is, so to justify all that slander in the off-season his return must be rushed.

Can't really formulate an opinion on Godwin until he has many games under his belt. He probably won't be Chris Godwin again until near the playoffs.

That's assuming he ever returns to form of course.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.
