Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
I know some of you don’t know who he is - so here he is being hilarious. He is also going to be hosting SNL this Saturday if you want to become familiar with him

Perfect tie-in for the new Victoria Secret's San Francisco exhibit ... err, I mean the National Football League's Superbowl half-time show.

Loved his character in Happy Gilmore 2. Can’t say I know any of his songs, but he’s the #1 streaming artist in the world. Should put on a good show.
Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
Agreed.
For this reason, this thread does not belong here. Nobody in here will be discussing anything about this from a football perspective.

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
It's the halftime show for the Superbowl. There's always a thread here. Unfortunately, everything in this country has become so political that you have to comb through what you post. The video I posted, I thought it was funny and didn't even think about the political aspects of it because was satire.
Let's not get dramatic saying we shouldn't discuss SB Halftime now just because it wont specifically be about football.

I didn't say it shouldn't be discussed. Everyone here can discuss anything they want to discuss in the appropriate forum. College ball has a spot, other sports has a spot. Off topic has a spot. And politics has a spot.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:52 amIt's the halftime show for the Superbowl. There's always a thread here. Lame
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
The New Union will correct that mistake.

I for one feel Bad Bunny would be better in coverage than SirVocea Dennis.

I never heard of him, but don't care. I've stopped watching the halftime show a very long time ago. It's pretty crappy.

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
Not sure it really matters. Only people I know who care about the halftime show are fans of the performer and people looking for a reason to be offended. Every party I’ve been to it’s break time to socialize a bit, refresh drinks and bring out more food.

I’m not young by cultural standards, but I’m not old. I’m 35. and I’ve only heard this person’s name like twice. Never heard any of they/their music. That I know of. I’m also chronically online.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 12:41 pm I never heard of him, but don't care. I've stopped watching the halftime show a very long time ago. It's pretty crappy.
This person is the most streamed musical performer in the last year or two. And yet, people like you and I have not heard of they/them.
Definitely speaks to the different ways people are consuming media. Even people who are only a decade apart in age.

Bad Bunny is 31. You 2 are in the same age demographic. I'm 39 and I've heard of him for years. He's gonna put on a good show.Snake wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:16 pmI’m not young by cultural standards, but I’m not old. I’m 35. and I’ve only heard this person’s name like twice. The demographic outreach attempt reminds me of another infamously failed attempt. Discarding your existing customer base in an attempt to lure another, is a lesson too many refuse to learn from the mistakes of others.Snake wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:16 pmI’m not young by cultural standards, but I’m not old. I have been listening to him for 4 years + lol I don’t understand much Spanish but I look up the lyrics - he is genius on all levels. Truly. And hilarious as an actor. Can’t wait till SNL this weekend!Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:22 pmBad Bunny is 31. You 2 are in the same age demographic. I'm 39 and I've heard of him for years. I just listened to a couple of his songs. Meh. Not a fan. I'll skip this one.

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
It's a bold move to book a musician for the Superbowl halftime show that doesn't perform in English.
The language barrier alone is going to be huge. What percentage of the audience is going to understand him? Somewhere between 10% and 20% I'd reckon, which means that 80+% of the audience is going to be alienated just by that alone. Subdivide that further into people who understand Spanish but aren't into his music (like me for example), and you have an even smaller percentage of the audience who will be into what they're seeing.
We will see how this goes. Poorly, I imagine.

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
don’t know his music, but there will be companion artists out there 80% of the time I’m guessing.

thankfully chef has a new thread to overtake with pissed-off-at-everything stance.

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
This is a GENIUS move by the NFL. Everyone who was going to watch the game before this news broke will still watch the game. People who were not going to watch the game because they aren't fans of football will now AT LEAST tune in for his performance.
I'm a huge fan of his music and I'm 37 and speak very little spanish.

Pretty much. Hispanic population booming. Get them to tune into some football.

While I'm not a fan of his, I'm also not the target demographic for him.Cheb wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 2:08 pm It's a bold move to book a musician for the Superbowl halftime show that doesn't perform in English.

As for his lyrics being in another language? Most of us can't get the words to some of our old rock songs down so it's a "whatever" for me, lol
If this is the only part of the Super Bowl I don't enjoy, I'm winning

Taylor Swift>Bad Bunny
Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
To be honest, i prefer not to understand the crap his target demographic spouts…so a different language is a plus for me

Re: Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX Half time show
I'm 50. Never really been into music, even as a kid. For example, I didn't know the The Who and Guess Who were different bands....same as Queen and Queensryche(sp?). I heard Baba O'Reilly at the beginning of an episode of House a number of years ago and thought it was new. I'm just not interested in music that much... part of the reason why I tuned out of the Super Bowl halftime show a very long time ago.Snake wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:16 pmI’m not young by cultural standards, but I’m not old.
