Ichabod's Monday Analysis: Week 5

Post by IchabodCrane84 »

What a game right? It was fun until the Seattle defense stopped us and we were playing catch-up leaving them with the ball last. Knowing we couldn’t stop them and time was running out was not a situation any of us wanted to be in. The defense stuck with it though and came through when it mattered. That speaks volumes. As bad as the defense was I’m proud they don’t have a quit in them.

Likes:
1.) I’m not sure I’ve seen a faster first quarter than yesterday, but I’m definitely sure I’ve never seen a Buc’s player pump up fans in another team’s stadium until Baker did it at the end of the first quarter.
2.) Didn’t love Egbuka’s walk-in TD strut last week while we were trailing, but I think I’ve forgiven him.
3.) The Wirf’s BOGO Sale. Buy one block, get another one free.
4.) Understand that most of Tez Johnson’s YAC is a result of the ball carrying him at the point of catch.
5.) Love that Logan Hall is finally using his head, and Lavonte’s using his hands.
6.) Thank you Chase... for the game winner, but more for all your touchdown saving tackles.
7.) It wasn’t much of a run game but Rachaad White got the job done when he needed to.

Dislikes:
1.) Grizzard follows up last week’s worst flea flicker ever with a razzle dazzle no look reverse for negative seven yards. Stop the trick plays and the WR screens please.
2.) Jaxon Smith-Njigba is name that sounds like it represents an entire law firm, and he took us to court yesterday.

Random:
1.) Speaking of the crowd, I must say I’m either disappointed in the Seahawks’ fans embracing their throwbacks or extremely proud of Bucs’ fans for their overwhelming support of them.
2.) Am I the only one concerned that Grizzard doesn’t do enough to hide from the sign stealing lip readers?
3.) Celebrating the win is great, but celebrating no new injuries is even better.

The win column is the important stat when you have the amount of injuries we have. Yes, that defense was frustrating yesterday. Looked a lot like last year’s and not able to get off the field, but that was a good team we beat on the road. This front half of the schedule could hurt us, but we’re sticking in there currently tied for the best record in the league. I’m looking forward to getting healthy, and maybe just maybe a game that doesn’t cause my doctor a concern.

Better than the two NFL players who decided to drop the ball before crossing the plane of the endzone, costing their team possession and 6 points.

I cannot believe that still happens, but you know it's all scripted. Trying to get people to turn on Chad Powers
