Saying you wouldn't want a 48 year old Tom Brady as your QB isn't groundbreaking news.

Now if you're saying you'd take Baker or a Prime Tom Brady, I don't believe you and you may need to get checked for CTE.

Envious? That a bunch of know it all pricks are purposely and knowingly pedaling a lie and think its okay because multiple people approve?

I'd be envious if what was being said was true. But what I did was clear up the lies being told. You wouldn't know the truth if it hit you like a semi truck so I dont expect any better from you. But others who I actually have respect for know better or at least they should.

I'm actually embarrassed for those who acknowledge that @CannonFire never said this but are like "ehh, close enough".
I'm not surprised. Pack mentality.
Pack mentality doesn't fly with me. Not my problem people aren't smart enough to think for themselves so they run to the pack to tell them what they should be thinking.

Check me, then...

The chemistry in the Locker Room NOW is stronger than it ever was with Brady. Tom Brady might have been a better QB than Baker, but the TEAM overall is better under Baker Mayfield, as our 4-1 record with all the physical damage we have proves. Only STRONG teams weather that. Weaker teams slow down and quit. We did that, years ago (sit DOWN, Dirk Koetter).

Better at what exactly??! Damn sure aint winning games and championships, which we literally did under Brady.

Let's put this in perspective. Brady lost 18 games his 3 seasons here. Baker has already lost 16 and is just 5 games through his 3rd season here.

So whatever it is you're saying this team is better at now, maybe its Madden ratings, team date nights, idk. Seems it has nothing to do with what actually matters.

Can we be reasonable?

Brady had:

Gronk
AB
Fournette
Healthy Evans
Healthy Godwin
Wirfs
Marpet
Jensen

And generally a healthy defense with some really great players on it. Those rosters were stacked.

Baker got here and has won with the scraps.

You're playing Gin rummy while Mooz is playing Chess. Not at all the point he's making. He in fact even said THIS TEAM IS BETTER UNDER BAKER.

Baker is playing at a very high level. I'm a fan and there isn't a very long list of QBs I'd rather have.

However prime Brady...hell 40yr old Brady is on that small list of players I'd take over Baker.

Having said that its looking like Baker is still improving year after year and if he keeps it up, that already short list is gonna get even shorter.

So kick your shoes off, have a seat, and enjoy the ride.

Huh? I prefer solitaire or minesweeper.

I read both of your points. My point was the talent in 2020-2021 was light years better if we’re being reasonable.

The culture now may be better. We aren’t a better team though. At least they haven’t shown that they are or can be. Those teams were dominant.

Baker is winning with a rookie, Sterling Shepard, and Cade Otton. Brady was throwing to multiple Hall of Famers and had a fully intact offensive line that could pass block for days.

Good point.

Swap 2020 Brady in Baker's shoes this season, I don't think we come out 4-1. Based solely on pass pro, Brady isn't evading those pressures. Having said that, as soon as they found out Wirfs would miss the start of the season, Brady isn't letting OBP off the phone until a suitable replacement is signed.

That skill, if you wanna call it that, is a very underrated and quite frankly under used quality. And it really highlights the difference between Brady and Baker. Baker is comfortable being just 1 of the guys. Brady wants to field as best a 53 man roster as possible and won't let something like team loyalty stop him.

This is a double edged sword though. Brady knew he was a Superbowl caliber QB. OBP also knew this.

They both knew they had a limited window to push their chips in, and win it all.

The way this team has grinded out close wins this year on the back of Baker's incredible play, and the rest of the team stepping up, should be a signal for OBP and Licht that once again, now is the time. Make some moves to push this team over the top, just like they did with Brady.

LVD can still be a difference maker, but clearly he needs help. Reddick and Yaya need help. Godwin (and maybe McMillan) can hopefully be playing a factor in the postseason. Evans isn't going to be playing at an elite level for too many more years.

Now is the time to make a couple moves to push this roster over the top.

Get 'er done Jason.

We all know that isn't happening.

It would nuke the narrative that Licht and OBP has built up that this is the best locker room and culture in the league despite the fact that they have little to show for it. Licht hasn't made a trade since he sent Carlton Davis to Detroit in March of 2024. Hasn't acquired a player via trade since......I honestly don't know. Not even a small, under the radar type trade.

We're comfortable being right where we are and OBP continues to show that.
