We don't have the players to run a 4-3 base defense.

This does not sound like Jalen McMillan will be playing in 2025

I remember screaming when I saw his fall. Neck injuries are no joke and this will be painful for him for the rest of his life. I hope he can return to us at some point but I am not hopeful for this season either. As nasty as that fall looked I’m just so grateful that it wasn’t worse than it was. Poor guy.

Yea once you're out of alignment, that's it. Gonna be pain management and maintenance until he dies.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 3:15 pmI remember screaming when I saw his fall. The silver lining here, if there's one to be had, is that you can't rush him back from this one as we often tend to do. I imagine he'll need to be cleared by neurological specialists as well and they aren't gonna cut corners and say "good enough". My guess is that's what the Bucs were advised of, which is why the timeline is now very bleak.

Why would the Raiders give away their best player for a sack of magic beans?Pirate Life wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:03 pm Pipedream but if this had a realistic chance of happening I'd break the pen trying to sign the agreement before the Raiders came to their senses:

Tannenbaum is kind of a dope.

Who blasted Josh Williams in practice and gave him a concussion?

Will Sebastian Castro get his first snaps on special teams tomorrow?
Re: ***2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Official Season Thread***
We need to make Mac Jones look like his first four years!

Dunno, tbh. But mark davis isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, either. It’s not that crazy in that sense.
If they make him available, Licht should jump on it asap.

I would be be beyond angry if I knew Licht had that trade on the table but turned it down.

Parsons just went for two firsts and a player. It’s kind of silly to think Maxx would be available for a 2nd and 4th. Ridiculous, really. Tannenbaum is a doofus.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 5:29 pm I would be be beyond angry if I knew Licht had that trade on the table but turned it down.
He’s a 1st+ at minimum.
Dude is 28 and just signed an extension. Put him on a team that can get a lead and unleash Hell.

Re: ***2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Official Season Thread***
Crazy to think we are 5-1 right now.
Wirfs missed 3 games, had our starting Center playing LT for 4 games. Goedeke and Mauch have missed 4 games a piece. We've had 5 different starting guards.
Godwin has missed 4 games. McMillan 6. Evans 3 games.
Irving has missed two games.
Kancey missed 4 games.
Dean and McCollum missing a game a piece. Morrison missing 3 games.
Told me that before the season. I'd think we would be luck to have won a single game, not be sitting in the driver's seat for the #1 seed in the NFC.
*edited to fix missed games, forgot Pro Football Reference doesn’t update until day after.

Bowles is having to scrape the bottom of his chess pieces so they will stand up before the game starts.

Re: ***2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Official Season Thread***
The weakest part of the pass defense definitely seems to be the LB coverage. If they can get a great cover and tackling ILB in this upcoming draft it could really take them to a new level.
For the rest of this year though we just have to work around some obvious sore spots on the defense that teams will be able to attack. Watching yesterday it felt a lot worse than 19 points and only three in the second half. Despite how it looks sometimes they’ve held it together for the most part. Great secondary pieces and a very stout run D will do that.
Been so many injuries, but not many season ending ones. Just getting their soft tissue, miss a few weeks level injuries out of the way early. If it sets up an experienced and calloused team that has 90% of their horses back heading into the stretch run and playoffs they could be really formidable.

The sad thing is, after the injury, he said he'd be ready for week one. Here we are going into week 7 and he's no better.Babeinbucland wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 3:15 pmI remember screaming when I saw his fall. This speak to what @Bootz was talking about with Bowles public speak regarding injuries. You can’t take anything he says at face value. It’s wholesale bullshit because he doesn’t want to tell the truth.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 12:22 pmThe sad thing is, after the injury, he said he'd be ready for week one. They need a sideline to sideline ILB (like David or Brooks) and an edge rusher (or two) who can harass the QB from the outside. A few O-Linemen wouldn't hurt either.Backside wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 12:13 pm The weakest part of the pass defense definitely seems to be the LB coverage. With the top tier edge rushers in this class, I have no doubt we can get one, even if we end up way down in the draft order.

Most of those sacks have come up the middle. We need guys who can set the edge. In a 3-4 defense, that means a pass rushing OLB.mdb1958 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:39 pmWe are tied for sixth in the league in sacks.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:29 pm
