The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick swap, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Orlando is sending Memphis the No. 16 pick in the 2025 NBA draft, Phoenix's first-round pick in 2026 and its 2028 and 2030 unprotected first-round selections, sources said. The pick swap is lightly protected in 2029.

26 year old SG that shoots over 40% from 3 in his career is a nice 3rd option for the Magic.

The four firsts seem a little steep though, but if Bane ends up good then I don’t think anyone cares.

Lakers getting Luka for peanuts is irrelevant. Nearly every trade looks like an overpay in comparison.

The picks are a lot, but the Magic also gave up no players of value. Dumped two players that made the team worse last year for an elite three point shooter that can give you 20/5/5. Fits the timeline with Banchero and Wagner.

Obviously those picks are a gamble, but Orlando isn’t trying to rebuild anymore. This is the market to get players now, the Knicks gave up more picks to get Bridges last year and statistically Bane is better. I’m okay with it, but the 2030 pick being unprotected can be nervous for sure.

Now, with the Knicks, I’ve been hearing that some of the coaches or assistant coaches didn’t want to coach for the Knicks because of Dolan. It’s too bad because the Knicks have good players

Right. And the entire world said that trade was either collusion or incomprehensible levels of incompetence. And it doesn’t indicate anything about the actual trade market and player values. This Magic trade, is more in line with how these trades have been recently.

They overreacted to a heartbreaking ECF loss to a team they felt they had more talent than. That and I also think they were arrogant enough to think some respected coaches would be willing to ditch their current job to coach in New York.

Funny enough, the guy they hired made a living losing to teams they should beat in the playoffs during his time as Cavs coach during LeBron’s first run there.

This is crazy. Guys who played in the G League who didnt get a shot at the NBA can now go back to college.

I mean financially it probably helps the athletes. They will probably get paid more money while in college then in the G league

"This was sprung on us again yesterday where a guy can be in the G League for two or three years and then all of a sudden, he's eligible. Most of my people knew nothing about it. ... I'm not real excited about the NCAA or whoever is making these decisions, without talking to us, just letting it go. They're afraid they're going to get sued."

Yeah, I remember everyone saying legalized gambling with get it out of the shadows and remove most, if not all, of the shadiness. Right. It's not just on the pro level. There were a few college basketball players kicked off their team for either rigging games or doing funny business with their stats because of these prop bets.
