We pick 26th now?
We pick 26th now?
Re: Draft Sim
That is what I am showing. Titans would be a pick ahead of the Buccaneers and the Packers a pick after the Buccaneers.
Re: Draft Sim
My first poke at things. I have not done much research on prospects though.
Re: Draft Sim
Second attempt. Yes, I like to trade out of the 1st round.

27: Jordan Davis, DT Georgia
60: Jahan Dotson, WR Penn St
91: Isaiah Thomas, EDGE Oklahoma
130: Cameron Jurgens, C Nebraska
174: Marcus Jones, CB Houston
225: Peyton Hendershot, TE Indiana
247: Chris Steele, CB USC
259: Blaise Andries, G Minnesota
Two notes, considering we are getting a comp pick in the 3rd for Lefty, I went back and looked. I would have taken Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB Alabama with that pick. The rest of the draft would have been different for obvious reasons.

91: Isaiah Thomas, EDGE Oklahoma
COMP: Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB Alabama

I would love that for the first 4 rounds.
At pick 91, I really really wanted to pick Daniel Faalele, RT Minnesota there, but since we just extended Dotson last year through 2023, it didn't make sense.

I could live with this
Re: Draft Sim
Did Aidan announce Tamps Bay is the only team he'd play for? I'm not sure that would work.

No, I'm sure that wouldnt work.

Re: Draft Sim
Go through the motions or make a difference, since the first pick of the 2018 draft till now all we have to show for it is Anthony Nelson and Joe Tryon with very minimal results. Nano says we had good results with Auburn CB's, he's leaving out how frail they are, they have missed 21 games and instead we used journeymen and aged vets that can still allow the catch, tackle, and keep the big plays at a minimum.
My question to you is do you think they could make our roster?
I also would like to ask what asset have we traded since Gaines Adams 12/13 years ago?

Re: Draft Sim
Will McKinley Williams go faster than Terry Beckner or Khalil Davis? Meaning get cut
Re: Draft Sim
I like McCreary. He's a bit on the smaller side but he's very sticky in coverage and a willing tackler. He isn't a A player, but he's a consistent B that doesn't screw up. One could argue that he's a reach but we could do far worse.
And while we all know thing that what Licht loves most are LSU linebackers, those Auburn corners are a close second.

I could not watch the Senior Bowl today. Did anyone watch it? Did any players pop? flop?

Re: Draft Sim
It was the PFF simulator and teams would pop up interested in a trade but they would move me to fast thru the picks, so I would make offers to the next pick after me (or a few) as long as I felt I could still get the guy I had interest in. Most played hard ball so I just took what they would give.
I think I made five or six trades before I picked Wyatt.
Tony Pauline's board is way bigger 1540 prospects and pretty easy to see PFA's to go after.

Re: Draft Sim
Philosophy? Umm, having those tackles open to being guards. Improving the 3-5 man rush. Improving 4 man rush.
More speed on the d-line.
I would love to find a way to dry dock some of these players if they are not ready.

Re: Draft Sim
Priorities is an interesting question this offseason, and until we know what we do with our own free agents it's a rather difficult question to answer.
I often think of mocks like shopping lists. What does this team need, and where are the prospects that fit those traits?
I'd put my shopping list as follows, in roughly my order of priority:
- An interior defensive lineman who can play base end in our base 3-4 while offering 3-tech reps in nickel.
- If we don't resign Godwin, a starting quality wide receiver, because even if he isn't WR2 he will probably get tons of WR3 reps this year.
- A three-down running back who can handle significant reps and touches as a rookie.
- An offensive guard who may start sooner rather than later next to Wirfs.
- A plus-blocker at tight end who isn't a complete moron in the passing game.
- A second 3-4 end that can specialize as either a run stopper or pass rusher.
Re: Draft Sim
Trey Hendrickson met Marcus Davenport - so I'm looking for the guy that wants to meet both of them.
Hint: 3rd bowed up to 1st, now I'd like to see cheaper bow up to both of them.
And he or they - could be in this draft.
