Still not seeing ‘several’ anywhere though. We think he’s going on 4 week IR?

Several. Multiple. A few. You're kinda playing semantics here. It's all the same. He'll be out Sunday. Likely won't play in Seattle the following Sunday.

It is semantics but it also seems like purposely making it sound worse than it is when everyone would agree that ‘several’ sounds worse than all the words that are actually being used. Regardless I know we all just hope he is back healthy as soon as possible

Hopefully he still has a chance at his streak but I’m feeling pessimistic right now. Not because he won’t play enough but because the passing offense is way down in yards overall, and Egbuka is well on his way to his own 1000 yard season. We really need the passing offense to explode when Wirfs and Goedeke (and Godwin) return. Definitely some chances for some huge games from Mike down the stretch so there’s certainly still some hope.

..................Moving on man. Pick a better battle. This ain't it. It's not as if anyone is saying he'll be out for months. Weeks. 2-4 weeks. Your adjective of choice doesnt matter. Several, multiple, a few, a couple, numerous. Either way it's more than 1.

I think I should clarify with context. If we win a game or three without him then I'd let him rest up. If we lose 3 in a row and he's ready to go then get him out there. If he's ready he'll play. We know that.

I saw 3-4 weeks earlier today. 2-3 weeks in that tweet is obviously better. I think the grade was worse last year and he got 4 weeks off with the bye and was good to go the rest of the season.

If it's a 4 week injury it might as well be 5 and let him have the bye week too.

Perhaps he has some incentives in his contract that make it so he wants to get back as soon as HE feels he’s ready.

An extra $3M if he has 70 catches, 1,000 yards, and 10 TDs

If he's 100% healthy I'm sure he'll be back before the bye.

Looking more and more like he'll have to avg 100 ypg rest of season to continue the streak. Yikes. 😢

Unfortunately this offense has yet to show any semblance of being consistent or even functional outside of Baker's improvisation skills or a big play here or there. Throw in Evans missing time and not practicing, it's gonna be very hard to keep the streak alive.

100% agree, and with that (non-1,000 yad season), I think he hangs it up after this season.

Yep. It’s looking like he and Buc fans will have to settle for him tying Rice’s record because, most likely, he isn’t going to break it. 11 consecutive seasons of a 1,000+ receiving yards is still an awesome legacy.

1000% agree. If I'm a receiver and my name is on a list with only one other dude, and that dude is the undisputed GOAT at his position, I'm good.

Considering the back half of the schedule, I'm not counting Evans out just yet. Looking at his splits, he gets most of his yardage the second half of seasons primarily (Nov and Dec account for about 53% of his career yards) and the schedule is loaded with teams he tends to do well with over his history yardage-wise (Panthers twice, Falcons once, Rams once, Dolphins once). If he manages to get his average against every team, he ends up needing to get around 60 yards extra between the 7-9 games he's likely to play.

Not insurmountable, but I'd feel better if we had the Cowboys on the schedule considering how bad their deep passing defense is right now.

Grizz has actually been doing ok from watching/listening to people who study film. He's not Coen, but he's also still learning how to call plays and to sequence them. Lot of the play design/play calling is being hampered by the o-line and Evans was facing a lot of coverages designed to minimize his influence on the game the first couple of weeks with Godwin and McMillan out, that's going to shift with Godwin back and Egbuka's emergence.

If he doesn't get it, think it'll be very close.

With Egbuka, Godwin and McMillan all sidelined, he's gonna see the ball a lot on Monday night. Hopefully he'll get triple figures which will lower the average.

After coming back from his hamstring injury last year, he averaged 95 yards per game over the last 7 games. It’s not out of the question, especially with the schedule being more favorable. His career splits show Nov/Dec are his best months.

Now gonna need to average 86 yards/game. Assuming he plays Sunday vs New Orleans. If he doesn't, that jumps up to 95.5.

What a bullshit way for it to end. Never even got a chance this year.

Fuck this season, I'm over it already.

Give the Chiefs their next Lombardi and save everyone a lot of time and energy.

Forget Rice's record. There is a non-zero chance that this was Mike Evans last appearance on the field. He's talked openly about the possibility of retiring after this year. With that record off the table and the difficulty of staying healthy as a player ages, it won't surprise me.

Maybe he makes it back this year though. If it's a simple break and doesn't require any crazy rehab, a collarbone is usually 4 to 8 weeks. If we are lucky, maybe we can get him a playoff run.

While I agree with Bootz that Super Bowl talk is premature, playoff talk is not. We should still win the improving South.

If Mike Evans is out a regular timeline for this injury, it puts him back in early-to-mid December. Plenty of time for the playoffs.
