2025 Mike Evans 1000 Yards Tracker

Post by BuccaNOLEer »

5 catches for 51 yards today. Needs 949 more to break Jerry Rice's record. At this pace, he will not do it over 17 games. Gotta step it up offense!!

He needs 59.3 receiving yards per game to hit 1000 yards in the 16 remaining games.

Meh. As long and he and Bake stay healthy, it's in the bag. He's not going to average less than 50 yds/gm, that's not a thing.

It's going to be difficult for the first few games until McMillan and Godwin come back. Good thing Ebuka is a baller.

Actually, the more I think about this, we’re without three top 2 WRs and still win. Minus Evans. That’s good I guess?

McMillan. Godwin. Who's the 3rd top 2 WR?

How nutso is it to EXPECT a ~60 ypg season from a WR?

We don't appreciate Mike Evans' greatness enough.

They can only double Mike so long until they shift coverage to Egbuka, then Mike goes off. Mike Evans 1v1 has always been the Grim Reaper to any NFL defense. Mike has the patience to wait for it and if I didn't expect 1000 yards, the discussion wouldnt be about Mike Evans. The GOAT

5 catches for 56 yards tonight. Total on the season is 10 catches for 107 yards. Hopefully he'll get open more often when Godwin and McMillan return

He's faced some damn good corners so far and it doesn't get any easier Sunday against Sauce Gardner.

Big Mike is also a target game for young corners. He is a walking legend at this point.

If the pass blocking continues to be shaky I don't see how Evans crosses the 1K mark. Evans makes his living between 20-40 yd range. There are only so many plays one can dial up to overcome a bad O-line, the best CB from opposing team and often a safety on top of all that.

How we feeling about Evans so far after two games? Any signs that he's lost a step?

Edit: not implying he is, just a general question.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

Not lost a step but I think he is asking out of the game a bit earlier than before. A few max effort routes and he needs a blow.

I think he let it slip last night that it's his last ride. The comments in print weren't as clear, but seeing him say it live, "And this being my last game in Houston," LONG PAUSE "probably..."

Enjoy it while you can Bucs fans.

That's simply because the next time we'd possibly play in Houston is like 2030.

He is ready. All I want is to send him off with his second Lombardi + sole possession of the 1K yard streak.

I want to read it like that, but then Evans goes and says this, per Sports Illustrated yesterday:
“I plan on having one of my best seasons,” Evans told Zak Keefer of The Athletic. “And if I retire after this year, I don’t think it’ll be a shock to people.”

Evans has not firmly said he will retire after this season or set a specific timeline, but he told Keefer, “I’m close to the end, that’s all I’ll say."
Hard to read that any other way, imo.

If you see that interview postgame, it's clear as day. His brain went into damage control mode and added "probably."

Not that it's damaging, but Mike is one of the most private people in the league and has earned that right. If anyone doesn't want every game they play during the season to have an angle like "Mike Evans final games vs X," it's Mike.

Also, we play the AFC South the season after next (2027), so we absolutely could be back in Houston within 2 years. Not that he'd be thinking that, but I just really got the strong sense that this is the last ride.

And if he chooses to retire after this year, God bless him and may he do so holding the new record for most consecutive 1000 yard seasons. I would not blame him one bit if he does. He would be able to walk away with mega riches and be able to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

4 catches for 33 yards and a TD. A couple of easy drops and a pulled hamstring. He's got 140 yards through three games but his status for Philly is up in the air

Mike Evans has 107 yards thus far through 3 games. To get 1000 yards for the season, he needs:

- 63.8 yards per game if he misses no games
- 68.7 yards per game if he misses one game
- 74.4 yards per game if he misses two games
- 81.2 yards per game if he misses three games

He has yet to hit 60 yards in a game this year.

I'm not saying things are over. Nothing's over yet. But I will say that I'm a bit skeptical for him to continue his streak. I think him throwing his helmet in the tunnel as he was walking to the locker room is a manifestation of him sharing that same skepticism.

We will see.

I don't believe he was thinking about his streak at that point. I would imagine he was frustrated with the moment.

He might throw his helmet later because of the streak though

He did have 2 uncharacteristic drops. Just hope he doesn’t much more than a couple weeks. But please don’t rush him back

I hope it is minor, but he has always seemed to have a hammy issue.

The receiver corps is decimated after being a strength at the start of the year.

Unfortunately, he is expected to miss several games. Looks like that streak ends this year.

Also it was 4 weeks he missed last year. Just 3 games because of the bye week mixed in. But he wouldn't have played that week.
