Take the top TE in the draft - Michael Mayer or trade down. Round two take an OT. Round 3 ILB. I have not gotten that far in my thinking. I also prefer picking based on player talent and not team need. Reaching rarely works out.
This draft does seem prime for chaos. Mostly the QBs.
I always say there are many ways to skin a cat, but it's true now more than ever. What makes a good QB isn't as cookie cutter as before, you can really take all kinds of traits and put them to work in the right system. The same QB will be on the top of one team's board and completely off anothers.
The second tier is also bigger than ever. Probably 50 guys who could easily be seen as "late first".
If we draft Richardson, I will throw a tantrum like I'm a small child. It's not like he was good on film, he was complete dog doo doo. Whoever takes him will regret it...hoping ATL.

I can understand that. I was deployed at sea when we drafted Freeman. Remember dropping to my knees and punching the deck.
The sad thing is, Freeman wasn't that bad until he started trying to be Michael Jackson. I think Richardson is a far worse prospect than Freeman was.
I don't think it'll be as dramatic as people think. I honestly think a lot of the earlier mocks will be correct. We've seen way more card shuffling these past couple of weeks than I can recall.
I've predicted Anton Harrison for a while and think he will be the pick. Anthony Richardson (without trading 2024 draft capital) is my dream scenario and trading out of 2023 into 2024 is my close second.

Oh this has to be a joke. Imagine Anthony Richardson being a "dream scenario".

I think we'd be very lucky if Richardson was there at #19. And I'd love to get him in the building, it would be a good gamble.
You guys know that other first round picks can bust too, right? At least Richardson could be exciting. More so than another Logan Hall or JTS
Missing on a QB that has a low percentage chance to hit a ceiling that can compete with Mahomes or Allen is better than hitting on most positions. I would love for him to be there at 19 or some sort of trade up spot that doesn't cost future picks but if I had pick 1, I would take him and it wouldn't even be particularly close. I have him going six to Detroit but I'm doubtful he makes it there.

Winston was exciting, want him back??
Big difference between 19 and 1. I don't get your point, should we never draft a QB again?
It is now only a little over 4 hours until the NFL draft starts. At 8 PM we will be tuning into to watch the draft, hoping that the player each of us thinks the Bucs need will drop to us. Each team has 10 minutes to make their pick. The wait is unbearable. Finally after 3 hours it is time for the Bucs to make their choice. NFL Commish Roger Goodell approaches the podium. We lean forward in our seats and almost crush the beer cans we are holding. Finally the Commish speaks. And announces “We have a trade.” “The Bucs trade the 19th pick in the 2023 NFL draft to the Miami dolphins in return for Miami’s 2023 2nd round pick, a 2024 first round pick and a 2024 5th round pick”. With the 19th pick in the 2023 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins select Hendon Hooker QB Tennessee.”

Dolphins taking a QB after picking up Tua's FULLY GUARANTEED 5th year option would be the epitome of incompetence.
I could see them taking one deep, but yeah, they added Mike White who is a good backup. They’d be stupid to take one in the first couple rounds.

Richardson’s a guy you draft if you have a lot of picks and can afford a bust (that’s why Seattle makes sense). We need lineman bad, and a playmaking TE would be good, too. Some say Richardson can be Cam Newton, but his accuracy and physique also resemble Josh Freeman.

I see what you're saying, but I see it differently. We are a mediocre team, with a new TE or lineman (who may or may not end up being good players) we are still mediocre, so I'm not too fussed about it.
We are likely too good to be in contention for the top QBs next year, but having the greatest athlete at QB in history is a decent consolation. And the team is decent overall except at QB. I get all the concerns, but also feel like some people haven't updated their QB evaluation process in the last 15 years despite the league and position changing massively since then, and it's skewing perspectives. If the new OC likes the guy and he was there at #19 I think it'd be crazy not to take him.

I mean, yeah, when Baker Mayfield is your starting qb, you’re a lock to make the playoffs and pick late.

So you're advocating for being bad this upcoming season? Okay, then lets take the potential bust QB. win-win, right?
I’m saying we are likely to be bad. We don't have any talent at qb and we need to build up our OL. We also need a TE. And our D is average. We need to use this draft to fill some other holes. This isn’t a draft we can afford a “risk pick” at qb, although I doubt he is there when we pick.
