Watson today: 15/28 125 yards, 1 TD. Their offense is about as impotent as Watson is without a fist up his ass.
How bad is Watson?
Deshaun Watson is averaging -0.30 EPA per dropback, the lowest number for any Browns QB in Weeks 1-5 since at least 2000.
The second-worst performance? Deshaun Watson last season (-0.20).
Watson's cap hit in 2024: $27mNFL players with -0.35 EPA per play or worse with at least 150 dropbacks through Week 5 since 2000:
2023 Mac Jones: -0.39 (183)
2024 Deshaun Watson: -0.36 (221)
2025: $73m
2026: $73m
2027: $27m
2028: $9m
What did the Browns give up for Watson?
Well, they let Baker go. and They made Watson by far the highest paid player in history per guaranteed monies. Plus the outgoing assets.

Cleveland's fourth-round pick in 2022 (104th)
Cleveland's first-round pick in 2023 (12th)
Cleveland's third-round pick in 2023 (73rd)
Cleveland's first-round pick in 2024 (23rd)
Cleveland's fourth-round pick in 2024 (123rd)
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is a legitimate piece of shit. Even by NFL owner standards. Watson is unfireable for at least another season. I predict Stefanski is fired soon. Maybe even midseason. Haslam cannot fathom that his "executive decision" to acquire the disgraced Watson for an insane amount of picks + signing him to an unprecedented massive was a bad decision and has doomed any coach. There was too much karma to overcome.
A truly doomed franchise.
