This coming quarterback class….

Post by Snake »

Not great.

Are any of these guys legitimate starters in the NFL? This is Mel’s top 5.

1. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
2. Cam Ward, Miami
3. Jalen Milroe, Alabama
4. Carson Beck, Georgia
5. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Other potentially draftable quarterbacks include Dart (Ole Miss), Gabriel (Oregon), McCord (Syracuse), Shough (Louisville), and Rourke (IU).

I'd love to see Cam with a coach and a team around him. Let him drop to the 9ers or something like that, where he starts year one as a backup then takes over. But other than him, it is a pretty unexciting bunch.

I haven't seen much of Shedeur; I only know his stats and hype. Milroe shouldn't even be on the list, Beck has never impressed me, and Ewers strikes me as a journeyman type. I just... ick.

I firmly believe that the 2025 QB draft pales in comparison to both this year and last year drafts. Cam Ward Jr. and Quinn Ewers are the only two standout players from this draft. As for Sanders, I have my doubts.

Milroe played horribly. If you watch the Michigan game, there are two Alabama receivers yelling at him by saying, “What the hell is that?” with arm ups

I guess he just declared for the draft. I mean, I hope he figures something out and secured his family’s future. But it doesn’t look promising from where I’m sitting.

By the way, @Doctor was right about Cam Ward He’s good. looked up his stats while he played for Washington State. Unreal Kudos, Doc.

I think only 3 QBs in this group get 50+ NFL starts - Ward, Sanders and Dart

I don’t see Cam Ward as an above average starter. Too inaccurate on the NFL throws.

Dart could be that guy who is in the league for 12-13 years, on 7 different teams, and just is.... always there. Like a Ryan Fitzpatrick. He'll be a backup, come in and light the world on fire, fans will love him, then the team will find something new and shiny, and he'll move on, then do it somewhere else, then move on...

With Allar being in the CFP, I do think there is a chance he leaves early and declares. It would really piss off a lot of PSU fans though.

I am absolutely certain that he is ready. IMO, he is the greatest Penn State quarterback to ever play for the team. That says lot. His offensive style would be a perfect fit for many NFL teams.

Drew Allar could be the next Aaron Rodgers. His touchdown to Int ratio is insane. I might be wrong on that.

Allar needs to work on his consistency. He locks on to targets, I do think he could be an excellent pro though.

He showed his deep ball against the Broncos. He looked decent. He doesn't often unload that.

Ward
Sanders
Dart

None are classic pedigree, but I'd take a swing on those.

Dart? Really? How many of you actually watch the Ole Miss game? His throws are inaccurate and make many dumb INT throws. He just sounds like someone you know.

Sanders is the most overrated prospect I've ever seen I think.
Guy is not a first round talent.

Sanders holds onto the ball WAAAY too long, then blames his offensive line when he gets sacked.

Is that fixable? Sure. Is it great? Not remotely.

The name is carrying a good amount of water.

Sounds like Tom Brady has provided him some mentorship for a while. Curious how that’ll convey to work ethic and professionalism.

He can make some great throws but can be inaccurate on the easy ones which is a big part of the pro game. Hangs on to the ball too much as well. Reminds me of Jameis a bit.

He'll be drafted high...too high....start for a good portion of his rookie deal and then either improve markedly or be a long term backup. I wonder what anyone would think if his name wasn't Sanders.

Jamesis Winston
Yep…and how long has Jameis been in the league.

Dart is going to have a career like Colt McCoy. Spot starts but a long term backup

Yup.

I really like him a lot. Good on him for working on his skills, issues, and everything else before the draft.

A lot of people in Georgia think OC Mike Bobo is the problem, and I agree.

Good. Take his mediocre ass to a mediocre ass program.

He has horrible tats and looks like eurotrash, he’ll fit in well.

Why do you hate Hurricanes so much?

Didn’t your team win that questionable national championship game against Canes?

A lot of these guys are situational. Ward is a great talent but don’t like the situation in Tennessee. Shedeur would do great in NY with Nabers and an improving OL. Dart could be good but hes like Darnold in that you have to put good pieces around him in order for him to succeed.

I wonder if Sheduer will pull an Eli to avoid somewhere like Tennessee

So could McCord. He's got some wheels. I see him as early to mid 5th round but he may surprise some people.

Being a journeyman backup QB is actually a nice gig. You make $4-$5 million per year, you only play three games per year and basically hold a clipboard the rest of the time.

Pretty good work if you can get it.
