I'm going to make a strong statement, Hall, Vea, and Kancey all should be part time starters. The quality of new talent would determine how much they would stay on the field.
You want to quasi-bench Kancey for shits and giggles? That may be the worst take I've seen from you. Calijah just turned 23 and is probably our brightest star in the defensive front 7. I would give him every rep possible barring injury or circumstance.
That said, there were nearly 1100 defensive snaps a player could have had for us last season (LVD played most of them), and no defensive lineman or edge save Shaq Barrett played more than 700 of them. So in a way, your wish is already granted, as only the Sack Ferret, who is no longer on the team, played more than 63% of the time.

A starter by definition means you just take the 1st snap. I’m essense all DL are “part time” because it’s nearly impossible for them to play all of the snaps and they rarely do. Vea plays around 45-50% of snaps I believe so he’s been part time. Not sure on Cancey. Hall is ass so I wouldn’t hate that.

We need to continue adding talent up front.
The top tier, pass rushing DTs play more. Players like AD and Chris Jones play 70+% and have more games of 80+% than they don't. Last year was the first year AD didn't have at least 1 game playing 100% in the last 3 years.

Exactly. It’s rare. Suh was one who rarely came off the field as well. But for the most part they are all part timers.
There is a lot to like about them, being able to stay on the field isnt one of them. I also thought, what if serious talent was added - would they somehow have this miraculous turnaround of being tough for a couple more years.
Now that Evans and Mayfield have signed, we should focus on getting a running back like Henry, drafting multiple defensive players, and address cornerback issues.

Pass rushers are like QBs. Everyone wants one but there are only a handful of good ones in the NFL. Odds are we won’t be trading for or signing a game changing pass rusher this season; there really aren’t any available. As such, I think we need to go after an offensive weapon. Go all in on this Baker led offense. Add a RB like Henry who can take us from a mid tier offense to a top tier unit.
Use draft to add pieces to our defense and offensive line.

I know this is old topic, but part of the reason why our starting DTs barely may have >50% snaps has to do with Bowles' philosophy of rotating guys drive after drive as if the backups are just as good as starters. It works out okay for our OLBs who are all average to begin with, but fucks up IDL. We pulled that shit against the Lions and they made us pay dearly in the 2nd half both on pass and rush.

The Bucs need another safety who can play in coverage. They’re not exactly easy to find, or cheap, unfortunately.
Justin Simmons fits that to a T. He won't come cheap though. But I'd offset that by moving 1 of the corners and offering Simmons a healthy deal.
