Tbh though even as a kid i was really never into Halftime shows. It cool some people are but for me, come get me when the 2nd half starts.
My favorite Halftime shows are Menefee Jimmy Howey and Terry (now Strahan and Gronk) for scores and Highlights

Do you atleast listen to music? I think there's a difference between not being into music as a subject but still like listening to it on the radio or when you're driving, cleaning ect.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 7:37 pmI'm 50. Never really been into music, even as a kid. For example, I didn't know the The Who and Guess Who were different bands....same as Queen and Queensryche(sp?). I heard Baba O'Reilly at the beginning of an episode of House a number of years ago and thought it was new. I'm just not interested in music that much... part of the reason why I tuned out of the Super Bowl halftime show a very long time ago.Snake wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:16 pm
I’m not young by cultural standards, but I’m not old. I’m 35. and I’ve only heard this person’s name like twice. Never heard any of they/their music. That I know of. I’m also chronically online.
This person is the most streamed musical performer in the last year or two. And yet, people like you and I have not heard of they/them.
Definitely speaks to the different ways people are consuming media. Even people who are only a decade apart in age.
My wife knows every song that's ever been recorded while I have no idea who sings what I listen to. I kid her that her life is a musical with the music being the focal point, mine is not. If I had no background music it would be weird but I really don't pay that much attention to it.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 7:57 pmDo you atleast listen to music? Can we pause for a minute to recognize this was said. Unironically.
I get that, Sometimes i hear a new song (or maybe an older one I never heard) and i may not know who sings it and that's if i care to look it up(sometimes I do).Selmon Rules wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:26 pmMy wife knows every song that's ever been recorded while I have no idea who sings what I listen to. While I'm not quite as musically illiterate as CF, I understand exactly what he is saying here
You find my joy and excitement at seeing him on SNL, sad?
My husband and I are very much like you and your wife lolSelmon Rules wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:26 pmMy wife knows every song that's ever been recorded while I have no idea who sings what I listen to. My favorite so far was Bruno Mars
Clearly, operating on 3 hours sleep a night is taking its toll on me. I have been doing this stupid shit since over the weekend.Kress wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:43 pmBabeinbucland wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:41 pm

I didn't say it was sad, I said it was said.
I hope you do enjoy the show. I just had no idea people watched SNL, much less looked forward to it.
I think there was a time SNL was popular. Maybe it still is but i haven't kept up with it like i used to. Except for the ocasional Trump skits, I find those funny.Kress wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:43 pmBabeinbucland wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:41 pm

Phil Hartman > Darrell Hammond > downhill from hereCentral_Buc wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 9:14 pm And somewhat recently with Dana Carvy as Joe Biden that was pure comic gold.
No, virtually never. I have satellite radio in my car, avoiding music is a big reason. In my car, I'm listening to MLBRadio, Fantasy Sports radio, or NFL RadioCentral_Buc wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 7:57 pmDo you atleast listen to music? I'm holding you to that. I'll be happy to go to the Super Bowl.
It's a timeshare SB ticket, unfortunately.CannonFire wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 11:01 pmI'm holding you to that. I'll be happy to go to the Super Bowl.![]()

I have no idea if he'll put on a good show or not but I'm 68 and have heard of him for at least a few years.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:22 pmBad Bunny is 31. A problem I have with most halftime shows is the attempt to cram every song the act has recorded into 12 mins. Bruno did this to a degree which took away from the performance. He's by no means alone in this regard. Pick 3 songs, play them entirely and get off the stage.
I’m torn. I do have to admit that I am annoyed at only part of a fav song, but then I really enjoyed the dancing along with the snippets of others.Four Verticals wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 2:10 pmA problem I have with most halftime shows is the attempt to cram every song the act has recorded into 12 mins. Sadly, the front row seats are all gone.
Wow, that's insane!Xandtar wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 3:42 pmSadly, the front row seats are all gone.
You can still buy a row 2 seat in section C40 for only 97K and change, have a great time!

His lyrics are very controversial. It's been said, that if you play his songs backwards at half speed, and strip out the music, you still can't understand them.
