yeah, I'm obviously aware. Though i think the constant rotation of players in and out of the OL these last two+ seasons had more to do with it than the skill players.

But from the replay, LOS was the 2. JJSS threw his block at the 1. Not a penalty.

Saints one isn’t disingenuous, it’s a fact. They’ve had 10 QBs drafted in that span and won their first game yesterday. In the same time frame, Bucs drafted 8 with only one not winning a start (Josh Johnson). In that same time frame we had 12 seasons with a starting QB we didn’t draft. Hell, Saints haven’t had a playoff win by a qb they drafted in their history (only other qb that’s won one for them is Aaron Brooks).

As far as the stats thing, it’s what the NFL does to promote stars or players they hope will be stars. It’s why they are doing everything they can to hype Cam Ward up like they did Jayden Daniels last year.

It’s been going on for a while, just go back and read articles/tweets from Mahomes’ 2018 season starting after his second game.

Could do what? Not all QBs are responsible for making checks pre-snap. Depends on the system really and how much they trust or want that many changes.

This offense Coen has run so far this season doesn't look all that much like the one he ran last year. A much bigger emphasis on attacking that intermediate to deep part of the field in the passing game. More zone blocking up front. In fact, the system he's running now looks a lot more reminiscent of the offense we saw in the 1st month or so of 2024, the one Baker and company kinda struggled in.
